Carrie, we usually give brief presentations on various aspects of the paranormal, spirits, and ghost hunting, with open discussion and Q&A on the topic of the evening or whatever else comes up. It's great fun! The topic for June will be "Animals and the Paranormal".
32. Carrie 06-03-2010, 10:08 am
I am curious about what you do at a meeting.
31. Tim (ORBS) 05-23-2010, 6:31 pm
Thank you for hosting the paranormal picnic. We had a great time visiting with you and other guests.

I noticed you guys have a link to TAPS. Did you see that they were looking for people to join their team for Nebraska? It could be worth a shot if you haven't already applied.

We're still planning to investigate the farmhouse in northeast Nebraska on Saturday. (There's warnings that highway 275 may flood). Jim - I hope it's okay to mention our group in this entry. We will attempt to broadcast live from the farmhouse via our Ustream link on our website orbsomaha com. Simply click on the "live investigation" link on our homepage after 9pm. Maybe your group can add this feature to your website! Because we're investigating in the sticks, we use our Verizon USB device and transmit the data via Ustream. Have you ever tried this? If the data is "choppy" like last time, we will not broadcast live. I have to warn you, our investigations can be boring because the women in our group do not display their cleavage like Ghosthunters. We also don't yell and taunt the spirits in a rude manner like Ghost Adventures. Anyway, wish us luck!

Kerry, You are more than welcome to sign up as a user in our online discussion forums, and post pictures/ask questions there. We have a private board just for ghost hunters that I can approve you for after you sign up, just send me a PM through the Forum system to let me know who you are; you can post there, or in the public areas or our brand new Media Gallery that is accessible from the Forum menu. Regards, Jim

HI! I was so excited to find this site! I knew there was a tour of the haunted places of Lincoln last october, unfortunately I could not make it =o( I'm hoping to hear of another one.I go to the antique store just down from Here And Back Again quite often so always check the window to see If anything is posted. I am extremely interested in the paranormal and it has always been a desire of mine to be able to go "ghost hunting" but unfortunatley you don't hear of anyone doing that around The Beatrice area,My sister and I have took some pictures at a few abandoned houses but most of them have no trespassing signs so it narrows our options down a lot.We work in an old motel that burned down in the 1800's word has it that several people perished in the fire I have taken pictures there but not gotten a lot, My sister did get one very very interesting pic of an orb with what "appears" to be a face in it. Anyway, I would love to go on a tour with your team and get involved in the meetings.

Our group conducted an investigation at an Omaha residence last Saturday night. Their daughter continues to "hear" a female and male spirit and the mother is receiving scratches on her back. This story gets more strange. I was located in the doorway of a bedroom with the thermal camera. The daughter informed us the male spirit was hiding in the parent's bedroom. As I turned the thermal to that doorway, I witnessed a small black (colder) spot form. Then the daughter informed us the spirit is moving through the hallway adjacent to the bedrooms. Our other investigator Tim is not the type to feel cold spots during an investigation. He actually sensed something cold next to him so I snapped a picture. The thermal captured a colder mass which actually blocks out his left shoulder and chest! Later, we snapped several thermal pictures with Tim in the hallway hoping to debunk this ghostly colder mass. These pics are not on our site yet and I will be more than happy to send them to your group to analyze. Can you post them to your site? Thanks! Kerry - orbsomaha

Heya NPS! I had a great time at your meeting last night. (Feb.17) It was fun and informative. I hope I can be a help with the group. I'll definitly be returning again and again. Thanks for allowing me to attend. Matt
22. Kerry 02-04-2010, 4:46 am
Thanks Robin! Since we live in Omaha, we can drive to Lincoln or the surrounding area and perform a joint investigation with your group. I'm hoping to start our investigations next month in our northeast Nebraska unoccupied farmhouse. We have identified at least two spirits there. We did capture a somewhat large circular cold spot with our thermal camera last summer. (It was definitely not a reflection or mistake on our part). Do you have any upcoming investigations? As for my schedule, I am the only oddball in the group. I work Sunday through Thursday 10pm -7am.
21. Robin 02-02-2010, 10:57 pm
Hi Kerry. I too would like to meet you and your group. I think that is a great idea, I dont know if we will change the days. But it would be great to have a meet with other groups, on a Sat or Sun. I will see if this can be arranged. Thanks for your input. I will keep in touch. Thanks Robin.
20. Kerry 02-01-2010, 5:18 am
Our group would love to meet you and attend your meetings. Do you have plans in the future to conduct your meetings on a Saturday or Sunday? Just curious. Thanks. Kerry - orbsomaha

14. Diane 12-14-2009, 1:32 pm
I read about the group in the paper, I believe a few weeks ago! I would love to come to the meetings! I have always been interested in the paranormal and YES do have my own stories to tell! From the time I was 2 weeks old til I was 17 1/2, I lived in a 'haunted' house in Norfolk, Nebraska. I would love to go back to see it now that I am older and MAYBE not quite as scared as I was back then. I heard it was on the market again. It has exchanged hands quite a few times since my family moved us to Lincoln! Could it be they have been haunted too??? It would be interesting to know if there was ever anyone that went to check it out. Also.I believe I have had visits from my father after his passing several years ago. Those were shortly after his death. Haven't had no visits recently!
13. Brad 12-10-2009, 8:39 pm
Jim, just signed up for the forums, would like to continue this conversation. We actually do the same thing, searching for ancestors, what they loved and what they feared, just from different directions. I am removing the GPS for the cemetery we discussed from the nebraska site for several reasons. I don't want "thrill-seekers" there either, although it could be argued that what you do is exactly that. Talk to you on the forums, how long does that approval take? Brad
12. JimS 12-07-2009, 7:46 pm
Thanks for the response, Brad. I wasn't aware that the coordinates are published anywhere. I sure couldn't find them when I was searching, and I'm the sort of person that can usually ferret out anything if it is out there on the net. I'm more concerned about thrill-seekers, they will find the place if they can! This is a good discussion for the NPS Forums, have you signed up yet? :) Regards, Jim.
11. Robin 12-06-2009, 2:05 am
Brad, I remember you now. You are BL Kel. I have recieved your emails. I am sorry I was so gaurded with the information, but I am sure you understand. You are with the gravestones site, arent you?. I respect what you are doing. Thank you for your emails, if we can ever help you in any way, please let us know. Thank you. Robin
10. Brad 12-05-2009, 6:13 pm
Thanks Jim. Have not let the cat out of the bag, the GPS coordinates are published in several locations including an official State of Nebraska site. I share your concern about vandalism, but not in this case as it requires too much effort to get there, and vandals are too lazy. I work with two state sites that stress the historical documentation of gravestones and old cemeteries, which is why I was there in the first place. THANKS Brad
9. JimS 12-05-2009, 12:57 pm
Brad and Kerry, Thanks for your interest in the Macy investigation. I want to emphasize what Robin wrote about not publicizing the exact location of the cemetery, and add that we are also concerned about vandalism and thrill-seekers/partyers misusing the site. We ask that other investigators show the same respect. We will consider releasing the location to bona-fide investigators/groups once we are assured that you are for real. -Jim

Your website is awesome! It really helped me a lot with some research I've been working on for my english class!
7. Robin 12-03-2009, 10:25 pm
Hi Kerry, Wow a thermal imager- that sounds like fun. We did not include the location of the cemetery for a couple of reasons. First being it is on the reservaion. Second being, Indians have certain beleifs about death and cemteries. We left out that information out of respect. I will check out your website, and I hope to talk to you soon. Robin
6. Brad 12-01-2009, 7:17 pm
Kerry: I would give you the exact coordinates, but this site seems to think that is a web address and blocks it. email me kaleeko9999 at yahoo and I've give you info Brad
5. Kerry - 12-01-2009, 6:20 am
I'm also excited for any evidence collected on your Macy investigation. Our group purchased a new thermal imaging camera in November. Would you be interested in a joint investigation in Macy or another location? You can reach me through our site. Also, did you happen to record the coordinates of the Mission Cemetery in your GPS? I live approx 1.5 hours from that location and I'm taking vacation on the last week of December. I'm hoping for warm weather for an investigation!
4. Brad 11-29-2009, 7:32 pm
Is there going to be a Macy update soon?
3. JimS 11-28-2009, 3:30 pm
Ellen, You might want to try typing your story into the Windows Notepad program, then you can copy-and-past it into our site when it is all done. This will avoid the timeout problem. Annette, I hope you are feeling better, and can make it to the next meeting! Thanks to everyone who stopped by and signed the guestbook! Jim NPS Website Administrator
2. Annette 11-27-2009, 6:57 pm
i was looking forward to going to the meeting this month but didn't get to. i caught either a cold or a sinus infection. didn't feel like going anywhere except to bed. we'll see how next month goes. what was talked about at the meeting?
1. Ellen 11-20-2009, 4:35 pm
Attended 1st meeting on Nov. 25th with my youngest daughter. We thoroughly enjoyed the meeting! Everyone in my immediate family have experienced things that cannot be explained. I tried leaving an entry yesterday, and each time after I had typed all of the experiences we had had, it said 'timed out' and to try again. I guess I can try and e-mail one of the group members and can talk to someone rather than typing it all again. As the lion in the Wizard of Oz (my fav movie) said, "I DO believe in ghosts"!. Ellen

This looks like a very interesting site. Looking forward attending a meeting soon. I've been to many unique places around Wahoo. Don't know if I believe in ghosts but i do believe in magic!
-1. Richard Pethoud 11-02-2009, 2:52 pm
Am looking forward to attending one of your meetings. I have long been interested in the paranormal even though I don,t believe in ghosts I do believe in demons.
-2. John 10-29-2009, 5:52 pm
There is a homesteaded farm in my family, and though the house is long gone, you can still sense a presence there. Kinda cool.
-3. Robin 10-27-2009, 10:45 pm
Thanks Annete for coming and sharing you story with me. I really hope to see you again.
-4. Annette 10-21-2009, 11:33 pm

Love your site. I have been interested in the field since my heart transplant 11 years ago. It's been a strange journey. My husband David says that the old CC White hall at Wesleyan was haunted. To bad it's not around anymore. I'd be there in a heartbeat(no pun intended).
-6. Kerry with 09-30-2009, 3:54 am
I love your site! Being a co-founder of orbsomaha, I was wondering what evidence or EVP's you acquired at the Mission cemetery in Macy Nebraska. I travel that direction often and would like to investigate there also. Thanks for any info!
